In honor of those of you who will be celebrating your birthday this month, today's "Fashion Friday" is dedicated to the September birthstone, deep blue Sapphire. It is said that prehistoric societies presumed that the world was placed upon a massive sapphire, which led to our magnificent blue sky. Hence, blue sapphire became the beloved gemstone of priests, kings, and leaders who believed this magnificent gemstone signified truth, wisdom, commitment, devotion, and sincerity. Sapphires are second to diamonds in being tremendously enduring and may come in any shade except for red or pink, in which case they are referred to as rubies. The popularity of blue sapphire rose immensely after Prince William of England proposed to Kate Middleton with his mother's 18-carat sapphire engagement ring. Blue sapphire is mainly mined in Burma, China, Sri Lanka, India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Kenya, and Madagascar.

We have selected this Simon G. Sapphire Ring as the ultimate birthstone gift of commitment and sincerity.

This astounding 18K white gold ring is inscribed with (.62) diamonds encircling a (1.34) sapphire stone.
